Will cell phone radiation prematurely age us?

7beaa_tweengirls.jpgThe internets are abuzz today with the news that cell phone radiation has been shown (in a rather wee study -- 35 men & 36 women) to interfere with the body's ability to enter deep, restorative sleep. So if you're gabbing before bed, you're ruining your chances at rejuvenative rest.

The teenage-girl contingent of our readership might be thinking, "So, what's the dif? I get, like, no sleep ANYway, and besides, txting MacKenzie and Bree can NOT wait until morning."

I dunno, do premature aging and increased risk of Type 2 Diabetes constitute a "dif"?

Saith the authors:

""The study indicates that during laboratory exposure to 884 MHz wireless signals components of sleep believed to be important for recovery from daily wear and tear are adversely affected... The study strongly suggests that mobile phone use is associated with specific changes in the areas of the brain responsible for activating and coordinating the stress system."
