We've already talked about the reality of teleporting in our hallowed pages, but ScienCentral somehow managed to corner teleportation movie Jumper director Doug Liman and star Hayden Christensen at MIT to ask them what they really know about the scientific conceit of their latest flick. Check it:
While Liman seems a bit arrogant (he does have a "science background," after all), he's rather articulate when explaining his ideas about teleportation, if a bit muddy on the how the science impacts his film. Christensen, meanwhile, coasts on his schoolboy charm and refreshing lack of restraint when professing his ignorance. All in all, not bad, boys, even if your movie science is a bit of a crock.
I really wish they could've gotten costar Samuel L. Jackson to comment, though — that's where the font of quantum wisdom might runneth over, hypothetically:
ScienCentral: "Mr. Jackson, what do you know about the science of teleportation?"
Jackson: "Teleportation? Teleportation? Right, now, it's about transporting the motherf***ing quantum information of a motherf***ing photon, motherf***er!!"
